There is a powerful Eclipse coming up this evening

This upcoming solar eclipse is all about new beginnings. A solar eclipse is like a new moon on caffeine, it amps up the energy of the new moon tenfold (sometimes more). This new moon solar eclipse is at the last degree of cancer- the sign ruled by the moon and representing the divine mother and the divine feminine.

With the eclipse in cancer we are being asked to begin new ways of being when it comes to the divine feminine and the divine mother energies within and without. nurturing, receiving, empathy, compassion, kindness, and unconditional love are all divine mother energies. this solar eclipse will ask each of us to see where we are in or out of balance when it comes to the feminine within- and where ever we may find something off we have celestial support to shift and change and rearrange so that we can find more balance within. interestingly enough, this eclipse is less than a degree away from the south node in leo. leo is ruled by the sun- the archetypal father and divine masculine energy. with the last degree of cancer- the degree of mastery- and the first degree of leo- the degree of initiation- we have a merging of feminine and masculine from polar opposite ends of the spectrum. it's like the alpha and the omega, but of different signs. yet these signs have a profound relationship. first of all they are neighbors (cancer comes right before leo), second of all they are both ruled by luminaries and are the only two signs in the zodiac that are, and third of all they are the archetypal mother and father (moon and sun) and actually have a marriage relationship of sorts. so this eclipse occurring on the south node- which is all about the past, past conditioning, old ways of being that need to be released- is symbolic of new feminine/mother energy that needs to be mastered and expressed in ways that move past old conditioning that is patriarchal, egoic in nature, and focused on the solar/kingly/masculine principle and way of being. as you probably already know, in order to 'ascend' or grow in consciousness, we each have to take responsibility for our own masculine and feminine energies. this necessitates owning our inner father and mother, rather than searching for it outside of ourselves. this is hard work and requires that we own and face our shadow- but even beyond that we constantly need to be looking into the mirror of Self via others and inner work to check ourselves- because ego can really trip you up! especially spiritual ego. once you get on the spiritual path and start thinking you are evolved/evolving your spiritual ego can really put one over on you- making you think you see everything when you really don't. this eclipse as well as the last lunar eclipse on 7/7- and particularly the week in between- is going to bring up anything and everything relating to the relationship between the divine masculine and feminine within in order for you to deal with it once and for all. if you don't want to see what is being shown to you then these weeks can be pure hell. but if you do you can have major breakthroughs. if i were you i'd opt for the latter :)

so this blending of sun and moon in cancer aligns the masculine and feminine in a feminine/divine mother sign, yet it cojoins the south node in leo, a masculine/divine father sign. this yin and yang, lunar and solar, feminine and masculine dance is aligning us with our own polarities within and it is going to highlight all that needs to be healed in a major way. in addition to the conjunction of the eclipse on the south node, we also have another significant aspect in the solar eclipse chart that is pretty potent in it's own right. venus in gemini is squaring saturn in virgo by only 16 seconds (less than a degree in exactness). venus is another representation of the divine feminine- although she is less about mother and more about lover. saturn is the ruler of capricorn- the opposite sign of cancer, and the sign the lunar eclipse moon fell in on 7/7. this square brings up limitation, constriction, reality that is maybe not so much fun, discipline, lessons, teachings and hard knocks that result in great wisdom when it comes to love, relationship and intimate connection. venus in gemini is versatile, fun, freedom loving and hard to pin down. she is also non-committal, scared of going too deep with anyone, and she vacillates- A LOT. saturn in virgo is particular, focused, perfectionist, critical, and committed. the two going head to head can create some interesting situations. essentially the cerebral, flighty feminine is being brought down to reality. and the critical, perfectionist task master (saturn) is being asked to lighten up. lessons about your own inner masculine/feminine dynamic can occur in the mirror of relationship. you own desire to be free may in fact come from a deep fear of commitment. or alternatively your own desire to stick with something/someone may come from a deep fear of being free and alone. checking in to see which applies to you is personal and requires that you be honest with yourself. usually whatever is the harder thing for you to do is the thing that actually would behoove you to try. we usually don't want to do that which will cause us to grow because growth involves growing pains. but eventually you have to grow, so why not choose growth before it chooses you (usually it is much more painful the second way).

another aspect in the solar eclipse chart is uranus in pisces trine to the sun/moon conjunction in cancer. the great awakener, illuminator and liberator is in harmonious aspect to the eclipse which adds sudden, electric energy to any new beginnings you undertake in relationship to your divine feminine/mother energy within and without. sudden realizations, aha moments, light bulbs going on within in regards to your own inner balance can totally throw you for a loop- in a good way. uranus supports the changes that need to take place in order to grow in consciousness, and in pisces he is intuitive, spiritual and unconditionally loving. pay attention to your spiritual insights and focus on your heart. it's all about the heart right now. that's the way it always should be in my opinion :)

there's one other aspect i'd like to mention and that is the quincunx of pluto in capricorn to the sun and moon in cancer. pluto is the lord of the underworld. he is all about transformation via death and rebirth. he likes to bring up all that is hidden and toxic so that it can be purged, cleaned and healed. the quincunx aspect is one of growth and it often brings up challenge or crisis as these are usually the only ways we opt to make changes and grow. with pluto aspecting the eclipse we have potent transformational energy in the mix- but if you don't go with the flow of changes and initiate them yourself then events seemingly outside of yourself will occur that might not be fun but will help put you on the path you are resisting. once again, i'd highly recommend you choose the path yourself as it is much more fun and easy that way!

as you can see this solar eclipse is pretty intense but it also has profound transformational capacity! solar eclipses are all about new beginnings- and in the last degree of cancer this is about finally undertaking some kind of mastery of this energy in whatever house it falls in in your personal chart. read below for a brief synopsis of where it is for each of the signs- and check in on monday for weekly horoscopes to find out more detail about what's in store :)

Today is the 7th Anniversary of the passing of our daughter

I was hesitant to blog about this subject, but as always spirit has a way of nudging me. Seven years ago today we said goodbye to our daughter Zoe. There are not words to describe exactly how it feels to lose a child. She was very sick and had many challenges that she would have faced in this world.

This morning I went out running, just praying for any kind of sign from her. I have no problem tapping into other people's loved ones from the other side, but have always had challenges trying to do this for myself. I remember the day we lost her-we went out to a lake and there sitting right on the edge of the lake was a beautiful white crane. When we approached, the crane flew off-as saying "I'm free". It was very touching. I continued to run this morning and continued to ask for a sign. I was almost trying too hard for a message. At the halfway point of my run I looked on the ground and saw a white feather that was not there just a few minutes ago. I then remembered that earlier in my run I kept seeing yellow finches. Just as I was thinking about that-I saw a yellow finch just staring at me-not afraid, not moving. I then got a message from spirit that every time I saw the color "yellow" today-it would be a sign from Zoe that she is everywhere and is with us whenever we need her to be.

This evening I will light my white candle, which I've done for the past 6 years on the day she passed as a rememberance to her. This is a lesson for everyone that the people that we loved that have passed are actually all around us-in everything we see and touch.

Can you make money doing metaphysical work ?

Being in the Metaphysical field and having a lot of friends in the same field I know that I'm not rolling in money and my friends are not rolling in money. I always find this very interesting. The world is opening up more to the new energies that are emerging on the earth. This is driving more and more people into the metaphysical field. I enjoy helping others and as a Lightworker, these are normal feelings. We're always told to do "what we love", but sometimes what we love does not pay the bills. Most of my friends in this field are not doing this full time, but yearn for a time when they can. I know the time will come when more and more people will find that all these healing modalities and intuitive readings will help their mind,body and soul more than an antidepressant.

I was prompted by my angels and guides to write about this topic today. Why do Doctors of Medicine make hundreds of thousands of dollars and energy healers make hundreds of dollars ? Well-I feel that people want a quick fix to whatever is ailing them, including myself. It is much easier to take a zanax than to learn to meditate. Now I am not discounting medicine and the medical profession. I believe that we all need to work together to heal the mind,body and soul. Our healthcare system needs to incorporate both Western & Eastern medicine to keep us all in balance. If we utilized more of the alternative therapies, illnesses would decrease. Health Insurance companies are turning more towards "preventing" disease, which is a good sign. Massage is now sometimes covered by insurance, or Health Care Spending Accounts do cover Massage and Accupuncture. There are many European countries that do cover "energy healing" as a valid treatment. I know it is just a matter of time.

There will come a time when myself and my friends will be doing our Metaphysical work to bring in the bacon and possibly doing our other jobs "just for fun".

We're All The Same

The other day I was running outside and this thought was brought to mind. "We're all the same"....How many times have you judged a person by their outside appearance ? I think most of us have done this at sometime in our lives-it just happens. We also judge people by the cars they own, or the houses they live in. Have you ever really looked at the birds outside-all the cardinals looks the same, all the robins look the same. Our outside shell tells nothing about us really-anyone can have a nice car or nice clothes. The important thing is what is inside of all of us-we are all the same inside, we have our hopes,dreams and life experiences. Each is different, yet the same. Today-try to look beyond the outside and see the soul inside the body. You will be surprised on what you find !!!! Many blessings this week.

Earth Day Week-April 19-25th 2009

This is one of my most favorite weeks. Mother Earth is honored this week around the world. There has been an increased awareness on the things that are happening to our beautiful planet. This may have been long overdue, but I am glad that people are finally taking notice. The number one threat to Mother Earth is humans. This planet gives, gives, gives to us and we take, take, take. Any relationship needs a little give and take. Her are a few things you can do to honor and cherish Mother Earth:

1) Wash your laundry in cold water

2) Use reusable bags when shopping anywhere

3) Recycle your plastic , paper and glass (recycling one glass bottle saves enough energy to power a computer for up to 30 minutes).

4) Unplug appliances when not in use (This can shave 10% off your electricity bill)

5) Switch to CFL lighting (A worldwide switch to CFL's would cause such a drop in electricity use that we could close more than 250 coal fired power plants)

6) Drink filtered tap water (In the U.S. 30 million plastic water bottles are thrown away each day)

7) Turn off the water while you brush your teeth (The average person would save about 150,000 gallons of water over a lifetime)

8) Eat locally grown foods, buy foods in season, eat out at local restaurants and grow your own food.

9) Buy clothing at thrift stores, recycle your old clothes at thrift stores.

10) Pay your bills online (If all Americans received and paid their bills online, they'd save 18.5 million trees'-worth of paper each year)

11) Make your next computer a laptop (It will consume up to 90% less energy)

12) Drive slower (Driving at 50mph uses 30% less fuel than driving at 70mph)

There are tons and tons of ways you can reduce your carbon footprint. Try to adopt one of the above suggestions this week, in honor of Earth Day !!!

What's up in my world on April 5th 2009

I like this picture of an angel sitting in her cup, just thinking. Thinking is what I've been doing a lot of lately. My angels and spirit guides are keeping me on track with my goals this year. This blog is somewhat a personal accounting for me, but also entertainment for you. The personal accounting that I'm working on right now is getting my Reiki for children class up and going on my site, as well as starting up a physical class here in Green Bay. Now, Green Bay is not the most "Metaphysical" city in the Midwest, but it's getting there. The word "Reiki" is starting to get a little bit mainstream. I don't think that there will be a witch hunt in my neighborhood anytime soon !!! Rest assured, but please check in on me if I don't update this blog for awhile.

This week has been a busy week for me. We celebrated the one year birthday of Psychic Radio and Lisa J Smith's show "For The Soul"-this radio station is growing by leaps and bounds. The site that I created for Lisa is going strong, we have almost 500 members. You can check that out at www.forthesoul.ning.com. Please feel free to join us-it is a great community that will uplift you. We bought two Lego sets for Tim (my son)-Indiana Jones-what's not to like about Indiana Jones. I remember Harrison Ford in his Hey Day-quite the looker !!!

Easter is coming up this week-we set up our Easter Egg tree and decorated just a wee bit....I don't enjoy clutter. Easter for me was always a joyful time of Easter Bonnets with that darn elastic band that went under your chin, white shoes and Easter Lily's. Christians celebrate the rebirth of Jesus and the proof that there is life after death. I've looked at Easter a bit differently the past few years. Tradition is nice, but the message that Easter brings to me is that we are all "one spirit"-that we all have a little bit of the creator in each of us. Can you imagine what we could do if we all got together and meshed a little bit of God spirit with everyone else's God spirit. I believe that is what the creator intended. Take the time to really listen...listen...listen to other people. Find the God spirit in everyone you meet.

On a lighter note-"My washer and dryer will be delivered next week Saturday"-talk about a rebirth !!!! No more laundromat (although the laundromat attendant is such a wonderful spirit, so glad to have met her). Bring on the dirty laundry !!!

What is Zimbate

I know what you're thinking....is this like that new "Zumba" class that everyone is doing ??? Will I have to shake my booty ??? Relax-Zimbate is a healing modality. I feel very compelled to write about this form of healing since it is the most powerful modality I have ever encountered. I did not plan on taking this class, but my schedule changed this weekend and this opportunity presented itself. Always remember that things do not happen by chance-you are where you are suppose to be at all times. Hey-if you're not happy where you're at-talk to the hand, because "you" decided what you wanted to do in this life. So-apparently my hand told me to take the Zimbate class.

The instructor for this class was Tracy Ann, who is a wonderful soul from the fine state of Washington (apples, wine, wine, wine). You can visit her website at www.naturestranslator.com. She talks to dead people and pets, so we got along quite well. This energy is unlike any other I have encountered. The energy is so intense that I had to just thank my guides and spirits for the opportunity to use this modality to help myself and others.

Here is a little background on Zimbate: Zimbate originated with the Essenes before Christ and brought together by Enoch, the patriarch of plant Earth. The Essene healers were known as "the therapuetae". The therapuetae used a form of natural healing using hands, vibration and sound. They practiced and taught this to others in their travels. Unfortunately it was abused and taken away until recently. The earth's vibrations are increasing daily-The Ascended Masters have decided that it is time to reintroduce this healing modality. Zimbate is held in great sacredness by the Celestial realm. Motive and intent are watched closely. To breach any of the guidelines can result in the practitioner losing their right to do Zimbate.

So-you're saying...hey what is the difference between Reiki, other healing modalities and Zimbate. Well-let's just say it's super-charged !!! The way that Tracy Ann describes it is that "Zimbate is brought to us through the Metatrone, a single energy. It is not better than others, just laser like in application at a very high vibration. If the god energy of pure white light was projected through a multi-faceted prism, it would dispense among a variety of healing techniques such as Reiki, Pranic energy, Polarity therapy, etc. Zimbate is like taking that same God energy and projecting it through a magnifying glass, resulting in a more focused beam of energy." Let me tell you-the energy is quite different than Reiki. An average session with Zimbate takes only 15-30 minutes.

Running and the Eagle

Today I decided to start running outside again for the season. Spring has sprung and I was getting the urge to get out in the very crisp air. I actually had a very nice run-I asked the angels to show me some signs of spring and right away the robins started surrounding me-it was so beautiful. I then asked the angels to show me the most majestic of birds-the bald eagle. I was just about home, when I looked to my right. I was in awe, a beautiful bald eagle was within touching distance of me. I stood there for at least 5 minutes and the eagle just looked at me. He was not scared. He was so majestic !!!! I finally did go on my way, but was thankful to my angels for providing such beautiful views of nature.

Reiki and Children

I have gotten the message from spirit-I will be writing a children's Reiki course for the Indigo and Crystal children. I am targeting the training to children from ages 8-15. I really feel that there is a need for this in the metaphysical community. There are so many ADHD, Autism and Anxiety diagnoses out there. Some are very valid, but a good percentage are just highly sensitive Indigo and Crystal children. I really feel that these children would benefit from Reiki. Let me know what you think. It's the first Sunday of Spring Update !!!!

First of all I want to say "Yipee for Me" I made it through another Wisconsin winter. The sun is shining, the grass has a resemblance of green (kind of a brown, but at least it's not white) The birds are chirping (very early, but I LOVE it) and I can actually see out my kitchen window (a few weeks ago it was obstructed by snow). So if you live in a northern climate like me-hats off to you !! You made it !! I've decided to ignore any snow that may decide to come our way. I will not shovel or acknowledge its presence.

Spring in Green Bay also means that my favorite ice cream stand opens up !!! It is within walking distance (not always good)-Zesty's has a sign outside their stand saying "Opening Soon"-I peeked in the windows (is this legal?) and I saw the "cones" lined up and ready to go. They have a flavor of the day-everyday and it is homemade custard (nothing low fat about this). My favorite is "Death By Chocolate". I'll update you when they open. I'm already planning a 5lb weight gain this summer. The beauty of having a child is that you can always talk them into going for ice cream.

My husband is putting up shelves over out media center. Whenever he does a project it's always an interesting day. His famous line is "This will only take an hour"-well....it started at noon and it's now 3pm, with no signs of being finished. Men-can't live with them, can't live with them.

Tim has off next week for Spring Break. We're staying home and bonding as a family (which really means that airline tickets to Florida were price prohibitive). We're planning on going to a SpongeBob Hoopla at the library tomorrow (it will kind of be like Florida, warm-lots of kids and swimsuits are optional). We're also getting ready for our annual rummage sale with friends, which will entail going through everything in our house that we spent a lot of money on, cleaning it up and getting 25 cents (Is this crazy ??, let me know). Tim will really enjoy helping out with this on his spring break. What kid wouldn't want to sort through items all day instead of going to Lego Land in Orlando ?

What is Reiki

Reiki is a method of stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. The technique was developed in Japan and is administered by the laying on of hands. It is based on the idea that all living things have a special energy flowing through them called life energy. When your life energy is high, you'll feel strong and confident, be more relaxed and centered and less likely to get sick. When it is low, you'll often feel tired, be more easily affected by stress and less resistant to illness.
Reiki is a Japanese word that comes from two words - Rei and ki. In the Japanese language, these words can mean different things depending on how they are used and how they are combined with other words. When they are used together for the practice of healing, the word Rei means universal spirit, Higher Power or God. The word ki refers to the life energy that flows through all living things. Therefore, Reiki means life energy that is guided by God. Some also feel this is just another way of saying Holy Spirit.
A Reiki treatment is a way of increasing your life energy. A practitioner will transmit Reiki to the client through the hands. The hands are lightly placed on or near the body in various positions around the head, shoulders, stomach and feet. Sometimes a practitioner will also treat above the body.
A treatment can feel like a warm glowing radiance that flows through the body. It is a very relaxing experience and some clients report the body feeling heavy as it relaxes and yet the spirit or emotions feeling light at the same time. A treatment will usually release negative feelings or thoughts leaving the client feeling more positive, light hearted and with feelings of well-being.
Healing often takes place and people have reported recovery from minor things like headache, stomachache, bee stings etc., but also major illnesses have been affected with some people recovering from heart disease, cancer, leukemia etc. While almost everyone experiences relaxation and improvements of various kinds, healing results cannot be guaranteed. It is recommended that if one has an illness or other medical or psychological condition that in addition to getting Reiki treatments, clients also consult a licensed physician or other licensed health care professional as Reiki works well in conjunction with all medical or psychological care.
The ability to do Reiki is innate within everyone. By taking a Reiki class, an attunement is given to the student which is like turning on a switch that in affect turns on ones Reiki energy. After that, all that is necessary is to place ones hands on oneself or another person and Reiki healing energy automatically begins flowing. Because of this, Reiki is very simple to learn and is taught in a weekend class.
